Neon is a startup focused on building open-source cloud-native PostgreSQL. Their architecture separates storage from computing, enabling stateless and serverless PostgreSQL solutions. With a team experienced in PostgreSQL internals, Neon aims to create a cloud-native database service for developers. The storage layer is written in Rust, and the cloud control plane is developed in Go. The company is led by CEO Nikita Shamgunov, co-founder of MemSQL/SingleStore.
