Founded in 1994 by Ron Anderson, it initially focused on converting used passenger aircraft into cargo planes for leasing. The company was headquartered in Stamford, Connecticut, USA, with additional offices in Dublin, Ireland. Its fleet included aircraft like the Airbus A330 and Boeing 777-300ER. Intrepid Aviation was owned by Centerbridge Partners and Reservoir Capital Group.
